How to Save Every Droplet of Your BBQ Sauce With This Simple Trick

This might sound bold coming from someone who makes BBQ sauce for a living, but here's the truth: most people are using BBQ sauce all wrong.

The problem? They pour it on like it's going out of style—and watch half of it run off into the grill.

I grew up the same way. My dad would drown ribs in sauce, and I thought that's just how you did it. I even worked in restaurants where cooks were way too generous with the bottle. But here's what I learned after years in the kitchen: pouring sauce over meat is a waste of good sauce—and your money.

The better way? Brush it on.

Use a silicone pastry brush (or even a spoon) to apply sauce directly to the meat. It sticks better, caramelizes beautifully, and adds another layer of flavor you won't get from pouring. Plus, you'll actually taste what you paid for instead of feeding it to the fire.
